Never Going Home Nominated for an Ennie Award!
almost 4 years ago – Wed, Jul 01, 2020 at 05:33:22 AM

We at Wet Ink Games wanted to share with you, our loyal backers, that Never Going Home was announced today as an Ennie Nominee in the BEST ART category.  Charles Ferguson-Avery did an amazing job bringing this setting to life, and this nomination is very well deserved. We couldn't have done any of this without his amazing art work, nor could we have achieved this without all of your support!

You can check out all of the nominees in all of the different categories HERE. We are so honored to be included alongside such wonderful products and companies!

Progress Continues, and JIANGSHI on the horizon!
almost 4 years ago – Sat, Jun 20, 2020 at 08:28:01 PM

Hey everyone! We just wanted to reach out to provide a quick update for you all.

First and foremost, we hope everyone is staying safe and healthy during this time of uncertainty. It definitely has thrown a wrench into our plans and daily work routines, but we're continuing to move forward and stay positive, just like so many of our fans and backers. Thanks so much for the words of support some of you have sent our way. Be good to each other out there. Now, on to the update...

Tears in the Sea has come back from layout and is in proofing. There only seem to be a couple things we'll need to modify, but it looks to be a pretty clean document. We're getting another piece of art done up for it, but that should be done in no time.

Bones in the Dust is being worked on right now and is getting wrapped up. I know work had slowed due to some naming inaccuracies on some maps that had to be researched, but Matt found a great resource and busted through that barrier.

Blood on the Snow is up right after that, and should be a relatively quick edit. For both of these later two manuscripts, the layout template has been worked up, so these should go relatively quickly.

Our plans are to have all three manuscripts to the printer by the time our next project launches on July 14th.

Jiangshi: Blood in the Banquet Hall

Our next project is a collaboration between Wet Ink Games and Game and A Curry. This is a game about a Chinese family making their living by running a restaurant in America’s Chinatowns, circa 1920. Despite societal backlash and anti-Chinese laws, they have turned a profit and their quality of life has recently improved.

Night, however, brings a new terror.

Players take on the roles of members of the Chinese family (mostly from Guangdong province), spanning three generations, who face threats of Jiangshi (vampires) at night and racism by day. It has players balancing the responsibility of maintaining their family business with protecting themselves and their community from the dreaded Jiangshi. This is primarily a game about storytelling. Combat is limited, but horror and drama are the primary vehicles for driving the game forward.

We are so very excited to be a part of this project and can't wait to bring it to life with such an amazing creative design and development team. You can follow the project below to be notified of the project launch on July 14th, and you can rest assured you'll hear more from us as we get closer.

Update from Lockdown

We hope all of you are safe and riding out this pandemic as best you can. Coronavirus has slowed us down. With routines shifted and so many things up in the air, it’s been hard to keep the project rolling forward at the pace we initially wanted. That said, it has been progressing and things are looking pretty good, all things considered. We are working as hard as we can to get the Dossiers to you as soon as we can. Here’s where things stand:

  • The manuscript for Tears in the Sea is in layout.
  • Bones in the Dust is in the first stage of edits.
  • All the pieces of Blood on the Snow are in house and waiting attention.
  • All the art has been completed.
  • GM Screen add-ons have been ordered.
  • Dice are in production and should be in hand next week.
  • Card decks have been ordered and are in hand.
  • Leather books are in production . Our artisan is finishing up the last of the run from the first Kickstarter and is then moving on to these.

If you are playing NGH, let us know on Facebook or Instagram. You can also find Wet Ink Games on our new Discord server. We love hearing the stories from your table, and are always available to answer any questions you may have.

Origins and GenCon

By now you have probably heard that both Origins and GenCon have been cancelled, but both will be hosting online conventions during their normally scheduled dates. Wet Ink Games was planning to have a fairly large presence at both of the in-person conventions, but this new format has thrown us for a loop. We will have a digital booth for Origins Online, and will do the same if offered the same option by GenCon. You can expect to see a number of Wet Ink games being run by creators and fans during these conventions, but we'll probably have a larger presence at GenCon as we get used to this. We'll probably host a panel or two as well, so be on the lookout.

Jiangshi: Blood in the Banquet Hall

Up next from us is Jiangshi: Blood in the Banquet Hall, which is coming to Kickstarter on July 14! This tabletop RPG written and developed by Banana Chan and Sen-Foong Lim and published by Game and a Curry and Wet Ink Games, has players balancing the responsibility of maintaining their family business with protecting themselves and their community from the dreaded Jiangshi (hopping vampires). The awesome Steven Wu, who some of you might remember from our game Tenebria: Remnant of Rome is one of the talented artists working with us to bring this game to life.

Thanks for your continued support. Stay safe out there.

Production Update
about 4 years ago – Sun, Apr 12, 2020 at 12:08:33 PM

Hey everyone. We hope you all are staying safe, wherever you are. We wanted to take a moment and give you a brief update on the current state of things.

  • All the art is in, and revisions made. Charles has again knocked this out of the park. You can find the final covers below, and we'll share some more art as the weeks go by.
  • All our writers have submitted their sections and they're undergoing editing and revision. Tears in the sea has be completely assembled and edited, and will be going to layout this week. The other two are being assembled, and they should be off to the editor very soon.
  • While these are being completed, we're also in the process of getting our other design teams moving on our other upcoming projects. We have a few big things coming up for the rest of 2020, and some smaller, stand-alone RPG projects using the +One system you have become familiar with in Never Going Home and Tenebria: Remnant of Rome.
